The Boei³ race series is an open surfski race series held on every 3rd friday of the month, inspired by the famous Seadog race series in Cape Town. The Boei³ races are organized by Jumpteam Scheveningen.


The races take place close to the beach, at Jumpteam in Scheveningen. A race consists of 3 or more laps around 3 buoys (boei). The course is about 7,5 kilometers long.

Registration

Entry fees are 10 euros per race. You can participate in SS1 and SS2. OC1 and OC2 are very welcome to take part as well.


To register send an e-mail to info@boei3.nl with the following information: name, age, boat type, race date and club (if relevant).

Rules and Safety

A mandatory race briefing for all participants takes place a half hour before race start. Race rules and safety rules will, when necessary, adjusted to weather conditions.


Participation in the race is entirely at your own risk. The organization cannot be held responsible for damage.


Rules

  • There is one start for all age classes and boat types
  • Participation is allowed in the following boat types: SS1, SS2, SS3, OC1, OC2
  • Start is at the beach
  • Start signal is a horn blow
  • The race consists of three or more laps around the buoys (dependent on weather conditions)
  • Finish with boat between the flags at the beach

Safety

  • Use of pfd and leash is mandatory
  • Wearing of brightly coloured cap is mandatory
  • Instructions from the race organisation need to be followed at all times

Parking (payed) is possible on the boulevard, at the Havenhoofd and the Havens. From the parking lot at te Havenhoofd it is a short paddle to Jumpteam (get out just before the lighthouse). Note that the maximum allowed stay in the 1e Haven is 2 hours. Map for parking

Surfski Scheveningen

Surfski Scheveningen started around 2016 and has found a permanent home at Jumpteam in Scheveningen. A growing group of surfski paddlers has their base at Jumpteam for their sessions at sea. The club has a few outrigger paddlers as well. In addition Surfski Scheveningen organizes downwind paddles on the Markermeer on a regular basis.
